Acting Our Authentic Self On The Stage Of Life
by Michael Bonamassa, Sr.
We've had many clients over the years ... people like yourself who join the path to awareness; primarily in an effort to find that there must be more to life than what they've experienced over time. The real satisfying part of working with these people is when the day comes that they no longer need us ... when we've shared with them all that has been given to us and they've arrived at their own truths and have come to know and understand that we live in a world of illusion which is not reality, but one of duality that's necessary to bring out the contrast between the negatives and positives in our lives so that we might learn and evolve to greater heights of consciousness. What is most satisfying is watching them arrive at the realization that they have been living a false life and aren't really the person they thought they were ... that what they thought themselves to be was not real, but rather what was learned, constructed, manufactured and made up and placed on top of their true self.
But then, we've also had clients that leave before they reach this point ... those who choose to not let go of the acting they've done all their lives and being a part of the drama connected to such acting. This is where Shakespeare pegged we humans when he said that "All life is a stage and we are all actors." or words to that effect. How true, we are all acting in a huge play, yet this play has no script. We humans tend to take life seriously, and all the problems, challenges, crises seem to be seen as life and death situations ... and in some cases they are. But really, it's an improvisation because we make up the lines as we go. As I told my grand daughter just a few days ago, it's when we choose to really let go ... to feel our feelings and stick to attaining that spiritual awareness ... that we can reach that liberating moment when all falsity falls away. It's all about reaching that awareness of finding that we're doing things for reasons which make no sense. Only then do we awaken and can use our free will to choose a part that is for our greatest good and the good of others.
You see, in this world of duality where everything has an opposite, there is an upside and downside to truth that we create for ourselves. The fact is that we live expanding evolving lives and the whole purpose of attaining spiritual awareness is to expand, grow, express and learn how to live more and more at who we really are as evolving souls. To do so means we must begin by acting the part because it's all about the vibrations we put out. Which brings me to the main point of this article ... how it would really be productive for us as actors to start acting the part we want to play from here on out through that which we've come to know as the ascension. It will help us move into it in a very real way by aligning and balancing our vibrations.
Very simply, if we want to be a top salesperson, we would have to dress and act the part. If we want to be a fitness instructor, we must act the part of a fitness instructor by getting in shape, take fitness classes, and beginning to imagine ourselves in that role. When we create and put on masks of false personas, they take us farther away from being our authentic selves or expanded versions of ourselves. So, why do we find ourselves doing this? Of course, most of it is caused out of fear that we won't be valued ... fear of what people will think ... fear of not fitting into societal norms or be less of something to be loved ... you name it ... all of which relate to the self-love in the above article on awareness.
As we finally become 'aware' and then align our intent of acting and being our authentic Selves during the rest of this year, it will take an awful lot of energy to hold those false-persona masks together, and they will finally end up cracking. When our true Self begins to show through, we won't be able to keep up the illusion. When we get off the stage of acting the part of who we are 'not', we free up mass amounts of energy that can be used for more joyful and expansive purposes.
The bottom line is that 'like attracts like' and we cannot attract other than that which our life force energy vibrates. Come on, join Sandy and I in acting our true authentic selves. If for no other reason, acting and being our authentic selves will help us let go of those false beliefs that produce false personas. It is then that we will come to really love ourselves and send these vibrations out to others.
I close by asking you to keep Shakespeare's words in mind that the whole world's a stage, and don't choose to stand in the sidelines and watch, because that too is a role ... you're playing the uninvolved. Yet, if we want to make a difference in our immediate world, and in the planet on which we live, we have a responsibility to choose our roles carefully and with consciousness. Let's make this play a joyous, light-hearted romance with Life and all its members. There may be a lot of muck to wade through and deal with at first as the other characters adjust to the new script, but, let's improvise ... we can do it ... one word, one thought, one action at a time.
